A Quick Guide to North Texas’ Best Neighborhoods

North Texas is a patchwork of many different cities and neighborhoods. With so many wonderful places to live, choosing is the hard part. Here’s your guide to some of North Texas most exciting places to live in 2021 and beyond.

The Rail District (Old Downtown Frisco)

Frisco, TX is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States with 163,656 residents. There are plenty of modern conveniences to be enjoyed in the city, from major shopping malls to a vibrant nightlife. But the Rail District (formerly known as Old Downtown Frisco) and Main Street offer a piece of history to those who prefer to live in an area with character and heritage. Despite having undergone major rebranding, much of the area’s character and flavor remains.

Old meets new in this area, where you’ll find modern, neon-lit storefronts housed in old but remarkably preserved buildings. The pedestrian-friendly stretch of stores in Old Downtown invites residents to explore the area by foot.

The homes located on the northern side of Main Street include majestic old farmhouses that have been renovated or refurbished to include modern features and other creature comforts.

Change is on the horizon, with a massive mixed-use project set to rise on the former site of Double Dip, a local custard shop, and other high-profile developments. If you want to invest in North Texas real estate, this area offers countless options for property investors in search of commercial and residential buildings.

Westlake

Proximity to DFW Airport, prime real estate, privacy, and exclusivity – Westlake, TX has it all. This small town is home to some of North Texas’ most coveted gated communities, including Vaquero, a residential community and country club with just 350 home sites located on a section of Circle T Ranch. Club membership provides access to a Tom Fazio-designed course and concierge services, among other perks.

Another gated community, Quail Hollow>, only has 96 home sites and also provides access to the Vaquero Golf Club. The community is prized for its luxury homes and mature oak and cypress trees.

Uptown – State Thomas

Located in Dallas, TX, Uptown is at the epicenter of North Texas’ urban boom, ranking 5th in the United States for new apartment construction in 2016. Despite rapid growth and development, many of the stately Victorians from the 20th century still stand. The designation of the State Thomas Historic District helped save some of the area’s finest historic homes amid urbanization and commercial development.

By day, Uptown/State Thomas is a quiet, wholesome, and desirable residential area. By night, its bars and clubs come to life, offering rowdy entertainment and fantastic drinks. McKinney Avenue and its famed nightlife offer much excitement for residents who want to blow off some steam.
